Coffee and Conversation- Birthday & Exercise!

My birthday came and went, leaving me one year older! Thanks to Backwards Aging, I certainly don’t feel older; in fact, I feel quite a lot younger than my 68 years.

This evening, though, I’m feeling a little sore around the hip/waist area in particular. And why?

I’ve been working out on my new ‘rower’. Yeah!

No, this isn’t me. When I’m svelte and looking great I’ll use an image of me. Til then, gets that honour… 🙂

It arrived the day before my birthday and took an hour or so to assemble. I couldn’t wait to get started.

The C.C. had advised I shouldn’t row for more than 2mins at any one time. This sure made me want to prove them wrong. But, as usual, they were right; I used muscles I don’t think I’ve ever used.

Within a couple of days of rowing 2mins times 3 over a half hour period, my little body was definitely feeling it…  Yeah again!

Am I the only one who loves the pain of sore muscles? Am I a masochist? Do I need to hang up my delight? Please let me know if you too love the feeling of a great muscle exercise; I need a little comforting…

So, it’s been one week of rowing on my rower. I luvvvvv it. I also luvvvv it because now, with the muscle soreness and stiffness, comes the need to stretch…  Another YEAH!

I love yoga, so, you guessed it; I’m now doing yoga, too. I’m just hopping onto youtube and joining in on a video; there are absolutely so many choices.


(I’d say yeah again, but, I don’t want to overdo it!!!)

What about you? Do you love/hate exercise? Does the word send you to the kitchen for a little ‘reassurance’? Do you enjoy a little reward like an extra biscuit because, after all, you’ve just been exercising; something I do all the time!    🙂

    1. Yes, Christy, I most certainly did!
      I wasn’t inspired to go to a local gym to try a workout first; I just ordered it and, presto; it arrived..
      Hahah.. I’ve just completed two of my three reps of 2mins for the day. I’m loving it; and I’m loving feeling my tummy muscles and obliques… Yay; I have obliques.. 🤭

Phew…I thought I had forgotten your Birthday, Carolyn, but then I remembered I congratulated you on Fkb…MOL 😀 Granny did a lot of dancing and (step) aerobics and also worked out with dumbbells and stoopid balls and so, but since menopause entered her life, her feet said STOP and she had to slow down and now she practice all kinds of Yoga almost daily. It was quite some changing after almost a lifetime of hard workout, but now she loves the quietness that Yoga brings and it keeps her in shape, something that she didn’t expected at all 😀 I have made a few blogs about it, when I trained with Granny. When you search for Yoga on my bloggie, you can see me in action…MOL 😀 Pawkisses for a wonderful day and we will come to drink more coffee with you soon *waves paw* 🙂 ❤

    1. You were one of the very first to wish me Happy Birthday, Binky, so no need to ‘sweat’… Hahaaaa… That’s a little exercise joke! 😀 😀
      Granny is so wise to be doing the Yoga; it is so good for all of the body; but then, I know you know that, Binky. I’m sure you could do every single pose there is… including Down Cat… or is that Down Doggy? It should be Down Cat because Pussy-Cats are the very best at stretching. But then, you also know that too…
      I will make a search for Yoga on your bloggie. What a wonderful sight awaits me; I just know that, Binky…. 😀 😀
