Basset Hound Reflection (Listen while you read)
Fun! Let’s have fun! Come on.
FUN! LET’S HAVE FUN! Come on. Fun…….! Etcetera…, etcetera…., etcetera……..
(Why can’t we have fun? Go on; tell me. Why can’t we have fun? Isn’t that a good thing to do; to have fun? Awwwwww go on; tell me why. Go on; tell me. Why?
And this is the personality of the beautiful Basset Hound. He/she enjoys having fun and does not understand why there should not be more of it.
Be patient if you have a Basset Hound personality around you; they may not be aware of their preponderance toward fun. They may think ‘having fun’ is the normal state of affairs; and why not? Why not indeed?
However, this personality type will eventually learn that life holds other meanings. He/she will come to appreciate the responsibilities of life, eventually. Until then, we must allow this personality to ‘have its way’. It will not learn to appreciate the more serious aspects of life until it has ‘had its fill’ of enjoyment. That is to say this personality, more than most, has an innate sense of joy. Would we remove this state from them? We would hope not. Be patient. Be patient and allow.
To those of you who are the Basset Hound personality we say: Allow the joy, dear friend. Allow yourself to be Peter Pan for as long as it takes. We can neither change our personality nor ‘take wing’. We must accept those things that are our innate personality and accept the challenges they bring. One would think ‘having fun’ was not a ‘challenge’ to be overcome. And yet; you know of the times when you feel you are going ‘overboard’. Don’t you? Yes, my friend. You know, and so do we.
Allow your personality to have its way and, in time, it will no longer be a problem for you. No, it will no longer be a problem; for you will have moderated your behaviour to allow both the fun things in life to be yours, as well as the more serious.
Enjoy your personality, dear friend; enjoy!)
Beagle Reflection (Listen while you read)
Now to take things a little more seriously! Like loving and living. Yeah, I’d say those things need to be taken more seriously. And what about the times when we’re needed to ‘be there’ when our loved ones are in need. Yeah; I’d say those are the times we need to take seriously.
But seriously. Don’t you think those moments, when we’re needed, constitute moments in time when all else pales into insignificance: Yeah; I’d say that’s true.
I don’t care for frivolity; except when it’s a necessary part of circumstances. This doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy having fun; far from that. No, I mean I take things as they come. If they come with seriousness; then I enjoy it. If they come with fun; then I enjoy that too. What I do say is this:
I think life should be a serious matter, taken with fun.
Yeah sure; I’m having a two way bet here! That’s life though.

Two fabulous and wonderfully complimentary personalities! I like to think I have both in me. I adore this reflection! Y, Carolyn! 😀 xoxoxo
They are complimentary; not that this was my intention.
Serendipity works again… 😉 😉
Though, you and I know there is no such thing as luck or chance…
And yes, I believe you are right. You have many of these elements within! 🙂
xoxoxo
awesome post Carolyn! I have noticed that dogs truly love to play, so do cats! 🙂
Indeed they do, Sharmishtha, indeed they do! 🙂
There’s nothing great than a dog. I have a Beagle/Pug, hence “Puggle”.
Sorry for not answering sooner. I just found your comments in the ‘Pending File’.
What a great duo – the Beagle and the Pug. I love them both.
Have you read the Pug reflection? It is so cute!
