How Best To Handle Negative People and Comments?

Our dearest asked for our help, once again, Dear Ones. Her query is regarding:

How best does one handle negative people and comments?

Our solution, Dear Hearts, is to ignore them to the best of your ability.

Our dearest remembers her first husband; a man stricken with the need for alcohol. In her words:

“He could turn a light hearted conversation into a need for personal power.”

Yes indeed, dearest, we remember him well.

Our dearest also understands that were she to have ignored his caustic remarks, his need for power would have gone unrequited; and this, Dear Ones, is the answer to our dearest’s request.

Individuals seeking power are best thwarted by ignoring their remarks. Indeed, Dear Hearts; no matter what your response, they will turn your innocence into ice cream for their delight.

    1. Yes, Megala, I thought so too!
I have no problem with negative individuals in the physical world, so to speak, these days. Heaven knows I’ve had my fair share of them, and have learned to avoid them. In fact, Megala, I see them coming at one hundred paces, as the saying goes, and have learned not to be affected by them.. 🙂
However, on-line is another matter; one I needed advice upon. It is good to know the same principles apply. Avoidance and ignoring them is the best remedy..
As I’ve come to appreciate: They will ‘turn your innocence into ice cream for their delight’… (A wonderful turn of phrase.) 🙂

    1. Indeed, Dear One. Although we speak of ignoring those of a negative vibe, the result becomes, as you say, indifference.
This takes some practise; however, the result is freedom.
      Many Blessings, Dear Heart

    1. Purrfect like you, my dear Binky.. ❤
And I know who taught you this lesson – but: I won't tell… because Granny will get all embarrassed.. 😉 😉
      Pawkisses received and sent.. 🐾 🐾 🐾

  1. Ignoring is best, but some times retort also gives you satisfaction. I found your book recently published wonderful. Who wrote it for you? Oh I am glad you liked it. Who read it to you ?

    1. Hahaaa… Yes, Shakil, sometimes it can be a little bit overwhelming. A ‘poke’ with a little retort can indeed settle the frustration! 🙂 🙂
I ‘self published’ the book, Shakil. Thank You for noticing! 🙂

      1. Dear Carolyn. There seems to be some misunderstanding. I could never put a satire on you . I even don’t know you published a book or self punished.
It was a joke I read in Readers Digest long back where some one praises a book then turns around and asks who wrote it for him/her. The quick reply was “who read it to you”. It was intended to illustrate my point about retorting back as against passive ignoring.
But if you thought I was negative, you did well and I am happy I was not ‘ignored’ 😃

        1. Hahahahaha…. 🙂
Shakil, I was a little confused, and thought, perhaps you were too. Not wanting to offend (because I know you are a wonderful positive individual) who may have been having a ‘seniors’ moment… I replied in the way I did.. Hahahaaaa… 🙂 🙂
I am still laughing, and am so pleased that this was only a joke; and your mental acuity is as sharp as ever… Tears of Joy! 😂

    1. Far too draining to be entertained, my sweet sister, Resa.. 🙂

Indeed, Dear One; the negative energies drain the individual, leaving them less able to function. This is true, Dear Heart. This has surprised our dearest; something she has not thought through, as she speaks. Indeed not, dearest. Those who engage in such activity reap the consequences of their behaviour. Yes? Yes indeed.
      Many Blessings, Dear Heart

        1. This is true, Resa. I had thought about the effects of being with negative folk, it can be quite draining. However, I’ve really not thought through the consequences upon them; those who evidence this behaviour. It now seems so natural that they should feel their own negativity as a drain upon their own resources.
‘A little aha moment’. Seems now so obvious! I see these folk almost everywhere. They lack vibrancy! I have thought how awful it would be to be in their heads. However, it has never been as clear as it is now.
How can one backwards age under those conditions? T’would be impossible! 🙂

Yes indeed, Dear Heart. Our dearest is having many ‘aha moments’. The reason being, Dear One: Our dearest has, to date, been quite isolated from the mainstream; this is as arranged, you understand. As her time to be ‘more public’ nears, her appreciation of the dynamics of the general public needs to become more astute; thereby protecting her from harm. Many such ‘aha moments’ are to come.

It seems, more and more, Resa; The C.C. are instructing me through you, my gorgeous daughter, and a handful of blogger friends. Ever onward, ever upward… 🙂

    1. Thank You, Wilson. 🙂
It seems so full of common sense to do this. And yet we sometimes get ourselves quite entangled in the negative energies of others – to our own detriment..
This has been a wonderful reminder to take care of ourselves; first and foremost. Without this attitude we cannot be a positive influence in the world..

    1. Thank You for your comment; and welcome!
Yes, I agree.. Whether we like it or not the ‘negatives’ are here to stay. Knowing this, I prefer to allow those of this nature to ‘pass me by’.. I’m learning to not be affected by them. This way I’m not wasting my time and energy on something I can’t change. But, I can certainly change my response! Thank goodness for that.. 🙂
