Coffee & Conversation – Taking a Back Seat

I’ve been quite quiet of late; savouring a slower pace of life. From memory, this has always been the case; time to take pleasure in the simple things of life.

I have often thought my life has been a famine or a feast; fast paced and sometimes frantic, then peaceful and calm with time for myself.

I haven’t any ambition, at the moment; it all seems far too demanding! Give me a coffee, my man, my daughter and a good conversation, an occasional social dance, an exhilarating walk in nature, and that’s about all the energy I want to expend.

I know, from memory, this wonderful ‘me’ time will come to an end. I will be inspired with great dollops of energy to re energize my thoughts and become a measure of change once again. But, for now, I am luxuriating in-between.

      1. It’s a simple and beautiful acknowledgment of the value of a kind of time too many of us downplay and overlook — to the great detriment of our happiness and, in the final analysis, of our usefulness 😊

    1. Aye, Charlie, I surely will…
We are just home from a wonderful afternoon /eve of dancing. To say I have nothing ‘pressing’ is true. My mind is empty; my feet are sore 🙂 and my body is looking forward to sleep!
      Hahaaaa…. This is the life… 😀

  1. I love that you can ‘luxuriate’ in that in-between time, in taking a slower pace & enjoying it. All too often we feel pressed to ‘do’ and be busy, and fret or feel guilty when we’re not. Taking time to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures and appreciate we need a little downtime is so important. Have a wonderful week 🙂

    1. Hi Caz, 🙂
This didn’t come easily to me. I used to fret and feel guilty, as you’ve said, whenever I wasn’t busy! But now I enjoy these moments of ‘slower pace’, basically because I know they don’t last very long; so I had better make the most of them.. Hahaaaa..
      Lovely to see you 🙂

  2. Hahaaa… Yes indeed, Helen, luxuriating IS wonderful…. 😉 😉
It is so good to know you too luxuriate.. I would have once felt this an abandonment of self control. Oh; how, thankfully, we change! 🙂

    1. It is certainly a different way of being, Megala; one I am beginning to believe will become the norm.
Over the past days I am slowly understanding that this freedom from a frantic pace, or its opposite can be the way of the future! This ‘sense’ is only at its debut, however, it is taking root quite quickly. I believe this ‘middle ground’, being one of a quiet confidence coupled with a sense of contentment and freedom from fear, will become one in which we can remain.
I am certainly looking forward to see where this newness travels… 🙂

    1. It has been wonderful… I’m beginning to believe, Resa, that this, or more of this state of mind, will become the norm. Activity, but with a calm approach. I think I’ll write a post about it soon. I’m loving how it’s making life so much deeper and loving…
      Love You.. 🙂
