There are numerous reasons why coffee drinking is valued by many. However, there are numerous reasons why this staple, for many, can and does prove to be deleterious in the health stakes.
Firstly, when the body is healthy and working from within its own window of health, so to speak, this stimulant is not required – it is purely taken for the sake of enjoyment. An occasional enjoyment, to be sure.
For those whose habit is to depend upon this stimulant to get a start on a new day we would say –
We warn against any such habit – a psychological addiction proves as menacing to the individual as a bodily one. And this, Dear Friends, is what you will have – an overall addiction that, when habitual behaviour is dominant, will prove a deleterious habit over time.
And what about the occasional coffee for enjoyment sake, asks our dearest?
As with anything taken for enjoyment sake – moderation is the key.
Do you enjoy the occasional coffee, dearest?
Yes, I do.
We know this is true for you, dearest.
Many Blessings

I drink decaf, a really nice French roast, and it makes me happy. I also don’t need it if I am out of town and there isn’t available, but I do enjoy it.
If I have a coffee at home, Dorothy, I am your twin – it’s also a French roast decaf, mild and pleasantly enjoyable. Mind you, that’s maybe every blue moon; I’ve got to be in the mood. However, when out I’ll have a regular coffee and thoroughly enjoy it – once or twice weekly. ☕️
Our local Italian restaurant has a blend that sings. We breakfasted there yesterday (Saturday) and the coffee was quite incredible. We also dined there on Thursday night for my daughter’s birthday. Two great coffees! No guilt…
No guilt for those little pleasures in life!!!
I get what you’re saying. For me, I need my coffee daily, especially in these cold days. I did cut back from 3- 4 cups to about 1–1½, but going through a 10-hour workday, the caffeine helps me get by. And honestly, I just love the taste. But yes, moderation really is the key.
Many Blessings to you as well
Wow, Willie, that’s quite a cutback – less than half what was!
Yes, the great taste of coffee, and the stimulant effect is quite disarming. I bet, though, you could nudge it back even more… well done you…
i tried to cut it back to 1 cup but nope 🤣. Thank you 🤗
You’ve already done so well…
🤗🤗🤗
Thank You 🤗
Java Bean: “Ayyy, I love coffee when I get steal some! In fact, technically, I am named after it! Unfortunately my opportunities for coffee theft are sadly limited by mugs with lids on them and Mama and Dada’s vigilance …”
Oh, now that’s just not right… lids on mugs! What’s a wuppy to do?
Be thankful, Bean. 🐕 Leave the coffee alone, or get Mama and Dada to change to decaf and give you a babyccino maybe. Apart from that I’m all out of suggestions… ☕️
You are right, I think sleep is important and we should be careful because these stimulants will cause us to have problems after a while. I don’t drink coffee anymore
Denise, like you, coffee affects my sleep. So…. I rarely have coffee in the afternoon or evening.
You are such a great example… Well done to you. 👍
There are so many pros and cons to drinking coffee. I guess that I try to balance the two.
Sounds good, Sheryl. Coffee sure is a comfort drink for me that I occasionally enjoy! We do the best we can with the info we have.
There’s a lot of conflicting opinions out there. I trust the info The C.C. offer me. They don’t have an alternative reason, such as a financial one that many food companies have when they make claims regarding health, etc. We do need to see through their deception, else suffer the consequences – as many do – particularly in the western world!
I love coffee but frustratingly I seem to have suddenly hit my max and suddenly my body doesn’t react well to caffeine
Me too, love coffee, that is… it’s only been a few years I’ve been drinking coffee. I’ve always loved the smell – so I can get some satisfaction that way; via the olfactory. My parents used to brew coffee daily – that’s probably where I grew to enjoy the aroma…
However, I am cognizant of the health problems that can present over time. Too much of anything…. etc., especially of the stimulant variety… Our bodies are so resilient, thank goodness.
I enjoy a good hot chocolate with pure cocoa, most nights. 😋
