Cockatoo Reflection

Cockatoo Reflection (Listen while you read)

cockatoo-sulphur-crested

Get out of my way. It’s MINE…

Yes it is; it’s mine. You took it from me; but that doesn’t mean it’s not still mine. No, it doesn’t. Just because you decided to ‘take it’, doesn’t mean it’s yours. No way!

And this is the personality of the Cockatoo. He’s a no nonsense type of fellow who agrees with right action. That is right, dear friends. The Cockatoo personality agrees to do that which is right.

When the ‘right’ does not prevail, the Cockatoo personality will falter. Yes, it will falter. And why will it falter?

It will falter because the ‘right’ is not always done. That is right, dear friends. The ‘right’ does not always prevail.

When this happens, the Cockatoo personality will falter in the sense that it will lose its inner core.

It’s ‘inner core’?

Yes, that is right. It will lose its inner core; its stability.

That is sad.

Yes, it is quite sad.

What can the Cockatoo personality do?

The Cockatoo personality cannot do very much at all.

Surely there is something the Cockatoo personality can do to change this reaction.

Yes indeed; however, the Cockatoo personality must firstly be aware of this preponderance within. Without this awareness, the Cockatoo personality will continue to flounder within.

So, awareness is the key?

Yes, awareness is the initial key; there are many more. However, without this initial key of awareness, there cannot be change…….

  1. The image is very beautiful, I am in love with that. And it was an absolute amazing post as well as informative too. And the voice record is also lovely. Thanks for sharing 💕💋💎

    1. We have many types of Cockatoos in our little region of Australia, Purva. They are really lovely creatures with many and varied colourings. This one highlighted is the Yellow Crested Cockatoo..
Thank You so much for your compliments; they are mutual… 🙂

  2. A very wise lesson, you better listen, Cockatoo 😀 We also want to thank you for your Birthday Wishes for Granny, Carolyn. They really made her day! Double Pawkiss for a wonderful day 🙂 ❤

    1. Here’s hoping he listens, Binky… I know you would listen, but then, you are sooooo wise; this lesson wouldn’t apply to you (or Granny)…. 😉 😉
      Birthdays are such fun…. ❤

    1. They are beautiful, Anita. There are quite a few varieties; some with salmon coloured crests, some mostly black with red tails; some with red heads and grey bodies, all simply gorgeous….
Hugs and Kisses to you… 🙂

    1. Yes, Maverick; we can imagine how much more effective this great character could be should he/she learn not to be adversely affected. Only then can we really effect positive change for ourselves and others.
I agree; it’s a great image I found on Pixabay; as is the little one above in response to voulaah (Anita)…. 🙂

    1. Hahaaaa, Christy; lovely to see your face!
If only he could recognise how affected he is by outside events, his/her big personality wouldn’t be so troublesome to him/herself, or to others… Mind you, I’d rather have a Cockatoo personality and believe in ‘right action’ (even with the troublesome inner conflict) than to not bother, or care whether or not the right prevails….!
Seems being a human being is full of complexions… 😉 😉

  3. I agree that adversely affected is better than not affected at all. But to be affected just so that some action is possible might be ideal. For Cockatoos it is 😉 XXX

    1. Wise words, Helen… Yes, to be affected to the degree whereby appropriate action is taken would certainly be the ideal, and, hopefully, the goal to which we can all strive.
You need to be a voice of reason for our Cockatoo personality… and many others… 😉 😉

  4. Well, at first …its name, Cockatoo and the first sentence and paragraph made me laugh! Then after reading more, it got sad, Also, sad to say I’ve known a few cockatoos in my life. If I loved them, and tried to make them aware of their inner instability, they got very angry, indeed. 😀 Of course they have outer beauty going for them! 😀 xoxoxo

    1. Well said, Resa…. Yes, these guys are all well meaning; however, as you’ve so rightly said; their inner instability causes them such grief. Without this inner turmoil they could be such warriors. 🙂 xoxoxo

        1. Yes, you did tell me about your son being in Oz, Luigi. What a handsome young man he is. I do hope he’s having a wonderful time!
Loved your post re Andalouse…. 🙂

          1. Thats a compliment … I can go to sleep with later in 6 hours ca. Its such a great thing … being able to communicate with someone on the other end of the world! I am so happy to have … encountered ? You … internet … what an amazing discovery … hope your well?

        1. Oh Luigi, he’s way north in Queensland; a wonderful place (a day’s drive away along the freeway). I have heard on the news this morning that the east coast is to experience heat wave conditions for the next 5-6 days. Hopefully, he is prepared; our summers can be exceedingly hot…

          1. He’s Italian ! Born in Germany … but still Italian. He will be staying there till January? Then going on to Asia … he’s living my dream! A lovely and humble soul! Im proud to be his father.

  5. poor thing! good truly does not prevails very often, we have to live with that and try to make it prevail, like I am certain I posted a comment on this reflection… where did it go wordpress?

    1. Hahaaa, Trisha.! I looked to make sure there wasn’t a Spam comment waiting to be released; but no, there was not! It’s a WP mystery… 😉 😉
Your summary is succinct and true, dear Trisha…. Getting our ‘knickers in a knot’ brings only discomfort… 🙂

  6. awareness is always the first step to a better life. However, awareness not necessary always leads to immediate positive change. Fear of change might be stronger than a desire to change your personality. God, I hopeI am not one of those cute cockatoos.

    1. Hahaaaa… Dace I doubt that you could lose your inner core!
I really like the Cockatoo personality – it’s big and bold. Nothing wrong with that!
I doubt, also, that we can change our personality, but we can always improve upon it..
I do it all the time! 😉 😉
Now how egotistical does that sound…! 🙂
      xoxoxo

      1. I have thought about one of the core pillars of human existence – “trying not to be selfish” but then I realized that you can’t be empathetic or selfless if you do not take care of yourself and do not stand by your values. Sometimes being egotistical is what the world around you needs. Note, I am not saying self-centered or narcissistic, I am just saying love yourself, take care of yourself, change and adjust and don’t forget others.
