Ermilia’s Picture it & write (Sunday 19 August 2012)
Once again, here is my offering to ‘Picture it & write’ hosted by Ermilia (Ermisenda and Elizabeth) who invite others to join them by writing a fictional story or poem to accompany an image presented on their blog.

Tasty little morsel….
What shall it be this day?
Will it be barbecue flambé, or would a roast be best?
Seems there are so many delights to be had in the kitchen of our dreams.
A sizzling burger; a soup tureen.
A juicy steak; a flamboyant lasagna.
A dish of extremes; kidney, brain, liver. So much to choose.
My hunger abounds. My taste buds plump. My heart encourages. Oh, the thoughts of love and life.
To produce a dish of flavourful magnificence, one needs the right ingredients.
This one will not do; he is far too thin…
Carolyn Page – ABC of Spirit Talk
Ha! Awesome! The hunger must have been screaming even louder than I thought! I like the way you dissected him. 🙂
I was feeling rather flippant when I wrote that Anne…. It’s nice to just hang loose sometimes; life can be all too serious otherwise. Or perhaps I am not being flippant; perhaps I would really like to dissect…. No, I was definitely being flippant…. xoxoxo
Haha, sure flippant. I feel like you fed me a slice of my own brain… flamboyant. 🙂 xoxoxo
Okay then; perhaps my sense of the macabre and flippancy is slightly skewed…! 🙂 xoxoxo
The way that these three sentences run off each other are amazing – ‘My hunger abounds. My taste buds plump. My heart encourages.’ A fantastic touch. I loved the twist at the end. We have some great dark stories to accompany this dark image this week. Thanks for being a part of it!

Thank You Ermisenda… I really had some fun with this one…!!
Wow, that’s a great image to encourage writing!
Just what I thought too…! I immediately saw an image of strange underground creatures feeding off hapless humans who, for whatever reason, found themselves enslaved by these flesh eating weird ones…. hahahahaha…… wringing my hands together, and licking my lips I say “And what would you write, my little pretty?”
Do you feel a story coming on…? 🙂
I’m not much of a critic, but I know if I like something. I like this. Your sense of the macabre is fascinating.
Thank You, my dear…. I love your visits…. 🙂
The whole thing reads like one lovely and macabre poem. It flows, and twists, and questions, and kisses the air with delectable menu choices by a vicious but tasteful chef.
I love it.
Throw the boy to me, Carolyn. I’ll fatten him up for you. Hee-hee!
Randy
Why, that’s incredibly kind of you, Thank You so much… However; I will need him by Christmas; I have the most delicious fricassee recipe I’m dying to try….!
And, seriously: Thanks Randy, your comment reads like a poem itself..! 🙂
Christmas will be fine. After I plump him up, I will FedEx him to you if I can get an invite for dinner. I love fricassee.
Ha ha… you’re on…! 🙂
You are a wonderful lady.I appreciate your (like) and revisiting my post.Regards. Jalal
Kind of you to drop by, Jalal. Thank You too… 🙂
Wow! Very cool… and creepy!
This writing stuff is bringing out the ‘real’ me……

I’m loving writing, my dear Hook….
Thank You for your brilliant comments; I adore them!
mouthwatering post!
Makes me want to run to my kitchen…!!! haha… 🙂
i am a lousy cook but love to eat if someone else cooks it for me 🙂
I love to cook; I find it very therapeutic, and I love to eat, which makes it all worthwhile… 🙂
You evil, evil woman you. What kind of delights would you prepare with a young man in your kitchen? Very nicely done. Your talent is unique and very profound.
I’m reminded of ‘Hansel & Gretel’ fame…. Hee hee hee… 😉
I see a wire cage with plump young tenderness awaiting their time in the kitchen of crime…. (A maniacal laugh rings out…!!! Hahahahahahahaaaaaaa!)
However; they all escape and live to tell the tale… Thank goodness for that..!
Thank You Kim, your words are always wonderful…!
love your blog (-:
Thank You Ulrikke, that’s very kind of you to say…! 🙂
That was great. You really matched the feeling of the picture well.
Thanks so much…. It was a fun piece to do…. 🙂
