My Piano Journey Continues

Six months of nursing my aching hands, wrists and forearms seemed like an eternity; I so wanted to play my beautiful piano. Whilst I waited for the pain to subside in the hope that I may be able, even if only to a limited degree enjoy at least a little time at the piano, I searched YouTube for help.

I was totally devastated by the numbers of people who, just like me, had suffered at the hands of unscrupulous ‘so called’ teachers. There were also those claiming that using their system/s would cause the piano Gods to fall upon you with their instant playing ability. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the main they are like parasites twitching their antennae waiting for their catch to fall under their spell.

Naturally, there are those who benefit. There will always be the individual who skirts the pitfalls and manages to survive the downfalls. However, many more, under the spell of amazing claims and incredible progress to be gained, suffer the most disappointment. Many of these give up their dreams when their ‘progress’ isn’t what seems on offer. Instead many feel ‘they’ are the problem – not good enough, not capable of doing what is expected of them. Many, such as myself, injure themselves. The result is pain – emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

During 2022 I found a most wonderful teacher on-line. She spoke of the need to strengthen the fingers and hands with good technique. I was inspired.

For those who have yet to read our three Free PDF Downloads, we welcome you to do so. We speak about our lives as spirit/consciousness, our current happenings as well as our predetermined future. We are Consciousness, Dear Hearts. That’s right. We, and you, and all that you see, Dear Heart, are a Consciousness.

    1. I suppose, as in life, it comes down to the individual themselves. There are those who have high morals, those who don’t, and all the degrees in between.

Now, armed with my personal experience, Pooja, plus those I’ve read about and heard about; the naivety I was subject to back when I first encountered the teacher who lacked teaching ability, is no longer the case. Today I would not easily be fooled. I would check their credentials, their history, seek out references and word of mouth. The bottom line is – not all have the expertise to teach.

As is the case for me – I still suffer the effects of bad teaching with, as I appreciate today, no instruction being given on good technique! This quite blows my mind.

      1. Yes, we encounter people in every field that have high morals and those that don’t. I’m so glad you’re doing better now and are able to fully enjoy your experience.

    1. I would have loved to have lessons as a kid – minus the mean teacher, of course!
But, I didn’t miss that boat altogether – I just had to wait a handful of decades for that experience. 😹
