Dancing Again!

Yes, Dear Hearts, we promised ‘fun’ would be the order of the day and we were true to our word.

Indeed, our Dearest and our Dear One Keith spent the night tripping the light fantastic. In other words, Dear Hearts, they spent the evening dancing to their heart’s content.

Our dearest has not been able to remove the smile from her face; indeed not. And our Dear Heart Keith was and is surprised by the exuberance he experienced upon the dance floor.

Yes, this is true, Dear Hearts, and will, when inspired, be the case for our Dear Ones. They will, when advised, be capable of the dance.

Our dearest reminds us of our Dear Heart Keith’s problematic knee.

Did it present a problem last evening, Dearest?

Indeed it did not; and will not if taken with advice.

This has always been the case for our Dearest. She remains true to our word, and knows that when recommended the result of our advice retains health and good fortune. Is this not true, Dearest?

Our Dearest nods in agreement.

Many Blessings to All

    1. I’m so pleased this is the case, Rebecca, and I needed that ‘extra’ bit of stimulation too!
It was almost like a child in a candy store. On second thought, it was exactly like a child in a candy store.
The music, the dance, the reunion with friends we hadn’t seen in what has seemed forever!
Yes, we danced and danced and laughed; and were also saddened by the knowledge of health problems for a couple of dear ones.
However, all in all, a most joyous event.

    1. Yes, indeed; a great blessing! One I hope will be repeated in the not too long distant future.

But, before I put the cart before the horse, so to speak, I am so grateful that here, in New South Wales, Australia, the pandemic is not as rampant as in other countries worldwide. Only because of this were we able to enjoy the delights of a social dance – totally covid safe, as much as is possible; yet with the air of camaraderie and joy!

    1. Oh Anjali, you are so right. I really do thrill when I dance; it is so exciting to me, and always has been.
Keith and I have not been on a dance floor since late last year. I was so surprised when we were given the inspiration to go to our beautiful friend’s social dance. And even more thrilled when we were given the energy to dance all evening. It was such a delightful night for us.
We are both suffering a little muscle soreness. Hahah, that was to be expected… And well worth it.
I do hope that dance happens for you soon too. In the meantime there is always dancing at home with our loved ones. 🎼👪❤️
      Many Blessings, Dear Anjali

      1. That’s true. We sometimes dance as well as exercise with high music on. For me Kyaraa is inspiration who keep me on my toe all the time. Thank you Carolyn for Sharing your experience. Much love 💖 🌸.

  1. It’s good to read that you’re able to get out and enjoy dancing again. And, with your very best partner, no less. I’m hearing from some of my ballroom friends that they’re considering giving it up. So sad.

Unfortunately, I won’t be dancing in the near future. I’m going to have a bit of surgery done on one of my feet and I’ll be out of commission for a few weeks. Oh well, as I always say, there are lots of miles on these old dogs!

    Barbara

    1. That is so sad on both counts, Barbara.

Our friends are mostly social dancers (always social or ex-comp) and, as far as I know, they are more than happy to dance when the opportunity arises, which for us here in my little corner is now weekly. However, for the more serious dancers who lack comp and dance practise I can well see the disappointment growing.

And what about you? Ouch; surgery! Do keep us up to date on your progress.

One of our very special friends has had many surgeries. Like you, she has been dancing for many years and her little tootsies show her enthusiasm. She has also had two knee surgeries – a real treasure and a dancing stalwart – nothing has stopped her; not pain nor threat of more surgery! She and her husband run a dance studio; the one we visited Saturday eve. Luv them heaps!

Again, do keep us informed about your progress.

    1. Susie, I’ve come to expect nothing less than movement and more movement from you! What a treasure you are; and a real inspiration too.

As I mentioned to you, I’ve started to learn the Latin rhythms at home – from a fabulous woman on youtube. Thankfully, at the moment, my family room is large enough for this. Hopefully, though, when I’m more proficient I’d love to take it to the next level at a dance studio. This may take some time due to the pandemic.

But, you and I both know that fun can be had almost anywhere; be it dancing, exercising, zumba, pilates, weights. And for you, no doubt, vlogs, more images and becoming an online superstar. You name it, I know we’ll both love it.

    1. Yes, it does. For those of us who enjoy music, friends and moving to the beat it creates enormous joy! And joy is something we all need.
Thank You for your visit and your comment.
      Welcome!

  2. That’s wonderful to hear, Carolyn! Just a little laughter and dancing can make the worrisome and troubling health issues fade into the background just briefly. I hope it invigorated and uplifted your spirits xx

    1. So true, Caz. It is quite amazing how laughter and dancing make your worries disappear!
And it was wonderful to be with ‘old’ friends again; some we hadn’t seen in over a year. We also met some new dancing friends too. They just keep coming, which is absolutely fabulous. New blood is a great sign for our dancing scene.
One of the new couples, I believe, will go far should they want. I truly get such a kick out of seeing dancers enjoying themselves and putting their hearts into it. I really win either way – both watching them and joining them on the floor. Guess I truly am just a softie by heart.
I do hope that ‘somehow’ your spirits are also being uplifted, Caz. There’s way too much doom and gloom around the world currently!
      Hugs and Kisses

    1. 🕺 Cha and Rumba 🎵 go together like a horse and carriage…. This, I tell you, brother; you can’t have one without the other….
I bet you’d be a fabulous latin dancer, Lulu – it’s the extra legs that would give you the advantage!!! 😀

  3. I love the fact that you and Keith went dancing. I can almost feel the joy of dancing when I think of you dancing. Thank you for your beautiful and uplifting posts!
Have a beautiful and inspired Monday, my dear Carolyn!
    Hugs and lots of love!
    Mihaela

    1. It would be lovely, Mihaela, to dance a little more! However, our day will come again.
In the meantime I know that we will get through this time of ‘limitation’. And we shall come out of this time stronger than ever.
I include you in this statement, dear Mihaela.
