Animals reflect our behaviour. The animals we feel a closeness to, encounter often, engage with, attract, and so on; have a role to play in that moment of our lives. They offer an understanding to us of the ‘play’ that is our current experience, and give insight into the intricacies of our lives. Following is the understanding for the ‘surprising’ Pigeon.
Pigeon (General) (Listen while you read)
Well, well, well. So you want to understand the Pigeon personality.
Well then let’s go.
The Pigeon personality is one which engages in many of life’s lessons.
Does this surprise? Yes?
Yes.
Indeed the Pigeon is full of surprises. And why is it full of surprises?
It is full of surprises because this is its innate centre; to be ‘full of surprises’, indeed.
One day, a little surprise here, and the next day a little surprise there. Do you see what I mean? Little surprises here, and little surprises there. Life would be oh so hum drum if it were not for little surprises.
Now, every time you see a Pigeon you will exclaim “Oh, I wonder what little surprise is in store for me today?” Indeed.
How very sweet is the energy of the Pigeon. It is a very gentle energy which has quite surprised me…!

The Pigeon & the Dove are two energies, so very similar, as to be as one. Should you be attracted to either one of these delightful creatures be sure to read both reflections; for one cannot be without the other… The Dove

Oh, I do love suprises . . what a sweet little bird.
Yes, neighaway, so do I – and the reflection itself was a surprise to me; as I said. It was a surprise because, as I realise now, I have always seen them (the pigeon one sees in cities, etc.) only as a very ‘strong’ looking bird. The ‘gentleness’ was indeed, a very lovely realisation.
I particularly love the little ‘crested’ pigeon, which upon investigation can only be found here in Australia. (Another surprise.!!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crested_Pigeon There is, in this wiki write-up, a reference to the Spinifex Pigeon (I haven’t seen this one however, he is just gorgeous.) We have the little Crested Pigeon in our area. They are generally seen in pairs and their ‘gentleness’ is so ‘overt’, so to speak. I just go ‘all gooey’ when I see them. So now I will not only get to enjoy their little selves; I will also be able to wonder ‘what little surprise is in store for me this day’…. 😉
Pigeons rock! Just ask Bert from Sesame Street!
Coooo Cooooo – and Bert knows what he’s talkin’ ’bout; that’s for sure…. 😉
I see all manner of birds in this bushy environment where I live. Black Cockatoos, Wagtails, and Galahs and of course Kookaburras however, I haven’t seen a pigeon for over a year. I drove in the driveway this afternoon and here were two little surprises foraging on the front lawn. I skipped up the driveway and wondered what surprises may come my way today. I then came inside and read your post on the crested pigeon and laughed. Thank you for the lovely little surprise 🙂
What was the ‘lovely little surprise’ neighaway? Are you referring to the gorgeous vid above that ‘Hook’ motivated me to find…. So cute! Or are you referring to something else…!?
I loved Hooks vid . . . a lovely start to the day . . thnak you Hook. I wonder what would happen if Bert tried the kookaburra call LOL !
Soz, I was referring to reading your post being a suprise, as I read it after spotting two crested pigeons on the front lawn 🙂
Yeah great vid…. I’m sure that Hook would love the vid too (he must be a Sesame Street fan, surely 😉 ; maybe he’ll let us know, hey Hook 😉 ) However neighaway, it was Hook’s comment that sent me on a search for Bert. (Not having any little ones, I’m not up with Sesame Street these days.) Not sure ’bout Hook 😉
Anyway, I must set the record straight….. yes, it was ‘I’ who scouted the vid…. glad you enjoyed it… 😉 – And, thanks for ending my confusion ’bout the ‘surprise’… I haven’t seen any little crested pigeons the last few days… here’s hoping… 😉
Wow, Pigeon Personality is so wonderful.. Life with surprises.. Pigeon Personality see life with an “all is surprise in the world” Pair of lenses.. thats how it is :).. beautiful post Carolyn 🙂
I do believe that this is ‘you’ to a tee… seeing everything with ‘expectant’ eyes… 😉
